What is a Skeptic?

Skepticism, the Philosophy of Skeptics

Skeptics are independent thinkers who uphold science over mysticism. Skeptics are atheists, agnostics, freethinkers, Brights and "naturalists," and are generally all non-religious with a shared dis-belief, and healthy dis-trust of Theism.

Skeptics use and promote critical thinking when dealing with the pseudo-scientific, the paranormal, the mystical, and the fraudulent.

These links are to a wide variety of skeptic organizations whose members (young and old) discuss topics ranging from UFO's to Quackery. Some of the groups are online chat and others hold regular meetings and social outings for skeptics.
